There are lots of kinds when it comes to goals. There's a vague one, for example, you want to be rich, or be happy, it doesn't serve a clear purpose to the kind of thing you're trying to pursue, it doesn't show you how to get it or where to start, you just know what you want to be and why you want to do it. There's also the detailed one or the descriptive one, this one serves a very clear purpose and it allows your mind to see through on what to work on and how to improve, and how to move forward towards that certain goal. Well, the second type won't come to your senses just like that, especially for a child. It has to come from experiences, references, dreams, inspirations, and other things.

My dad has a theory about goals. He would say to me, that if I have a goal, I should have a picture or words that describe my goal and hang it in my room. At first, I didn't think it was necessary but believe me it is, he didn't explain the reason I should do it because I think he doesn't know how to, but I think I can try to explain it to you. Though I think hanging pictures of your goals or wishes in your room is a pretty common thing to do for teenagers, I just want to explain it from my point of view. I think having those pictures in your room is like having a guide. It's been planted subconsciously inside your mind, so that whatever hard work that you do, leads to that goal, without you realizing, and I know it sounds a bit weird, but I think it kind of works. Because as a teenager, you come and go as you please in your bedroom, and I'm sure some of you spent a lot of time in your room. This means you will see those pictures or/and words every single day, and that affects you in a way. You're going to see it every time you want to leave or enter, and it slowly gets into your mind and becomes a more important goal for you to achieve, day by day, without you realizing. Well, other than the main purpose of this project, I think it also lights up the room if you can play with the color schemes or make collages, and you can change the picture after it's been achieved. It's like a little motivation note without words, just a pinch of vision or goal for you to see, so that you make a promise to yourself that if you can achieve the goal, that is the victory that you'll see/feel/hear or whatever it is your reward is, it'll be your end of the rainbow.

I believe that everyone has a goal, whether it's vague or clear. You just have to know how to push it in the right direction and let in all the positivity and criticism from anyone, even yourself. Now, beware that no one can predict when you're going to achieve it, no one knows how long do you have to hang that picture up, only you can. Only you can decide how fast you want to get those goals, and I think that's the beauty of it. That way you can keep trying without that much pressure because it will come in time. Think of it as your own personal postcard, a message to yourself to enjoy the goal that you have reached. So work hard.
