Hi! Another topic to discuss, we're talking about stuff today. Yes, stuff. Belongings, treasured things, objects you can't live without (too much? Okay), and other definitions for the things that fulfill our days as a human being. But first I have a little story. (You can skip to the next paragraph to just view my point, but it would be nice if you read my story first.)

I am not an early riser. So, when it comes to school, I always arrive just before school starts, so my mornings can be a bit HECTIC, forgot this and that, not to mention rechecking what books to bring and what uniform to wear that day, so in conclusion, I can be forgetful on the little things, including my phone. Long story short, when I arrived at school, I just realized I forgot to bring my phone (worst case for a teenager with a lot of free time at school) so I called my mom with my friend's phone to keep it and charge it. At first, I thought this would be cool, back to the old days when bringing your phone was not a must for teens, and that I could spend that time for more talks with my friends, do more assignments, and other things. I have to tell you, I succeeded, not to brag, my friends were so weirded out on how I can be fine without it for half the day. Well, guess what, I WASN'T, well not that exaggerated, but yes, I was pretty bummed half the day, though I tried not to show it in public so it'll look like I'm all chilled about this situation when actually it kind of killed my time and energy just to think about my phone. As weird as it sounds, it's like I have this little urge to scroll or click or type, look at new posts, etc. It's probably because my phone is already part of the things that I use daily, so with that lost from those list of things, it feels like there's something wrong with that day, also it's probably because my friends are also holding their phones, so I was a little bit jealous. But after that weird little urge, it hit me. How these technologies freaking control me, a human! A living thing! I exist and yet these little objects can control and even increase my need for it. It was a weird thought that just swooshed through my head. It came to my realization, that we can no longer avoid this. That the more technology improves, the more humans jump into it, we want to know more, we want more comfort, more luxury, more up to date, but it's all wrong. I think technology is not supposed to be that kind of device, I think technology is supposed to be a device that can make people's lives better, sometimes easier but for the purpose of being better, for us humans to better individuals, to communicate, to share thoughts and information, not to make us weird addicts that can't live without it for just half a day.

Don't miss out, still be a part of anything or anyone that's in your life, because there's nothing better than real people being there for you, not just "Happy Birthday" GIFs or "Congratulations" stickers on social media, but real hugs, laughs, walks, and conversations with each other. Because real-life relationships can make special bonds and genuine love, although don't get me wrong, a lot of long-distance relationships (all kinds) can also achieve that genuine feeling, but there's something about meeting the person in real life that just, gets to you. So cherish it, because, in this world full of stuff, it sure is hard to find that kind of love again, so start over, move those technologies aside a little bit and build more relationships, bond, laugh, cry, whatever it is, be real and genuine.
